Vendor Feature: The George Peabody Library
We are really excited about this blog post because we get to highlight one of our favorite vendors, The George Peabody Library! They answered a few questions about weddings at their venue and working with our band.
Tell us a little about your venue!
Consistently ranked one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, the George Peabody Library provides a truly breathtaking setting for your wedding. Six tiers of stately cast-iron columns and ornate railings embellished with gold leaf encircle the Reading Room, creating an ambiance that is both enchanting and scholarly. Filled with over 300,000 volumes of books, the Library creates a stunning backdrop for ceremonies and receptions, providing each with a timeless and storied setting to create your personal memories.
Trust us, it’s just as amazing and romantic as it sounds!
What is your favorite thing about working in weddings?
Our favorite thing about working in weddings is seeing the couple’s reaction when they see their fully decorated reception space for the first time. No matter what stress they endured leading up to that moment, it’s washed away by the seeing the beauty of everything they’ve planned for and dreamed of come to life.
Can you share a fun memory while working with Bachelor Boys Band?
In 2014, we hosted The Knot Mixer and it was completely planned and designed by Elle Ellinghaus. It was the first time the Bachelor Boys Band played at the Peabody and Elle managed to get the whole band to wear pink bowties, it was such a fun event. After that, we enjoyed having the Bachelor Boys Band play for many weddings and events at the Peabody and welcomed them on our preferred vendor list in 2015. We can’t wait to have Bachelor Boys play for a wedding with us soon!
What is your most memorable experience as a venue?
We decided to go way back in the archives for our memories and pulled one from 2015 when we had a robot at one of our weddings. The groom actually built a Meccano Robot the night before the wedding so that it could dance with the guests. It was such a fun and unique wedding!
That event was featured in Baltimore Weddings!
